3D MAMMOGRAMS

From 2010 through 2012 Dr. Kolb was the Principal Investigator for the GE North American 3D Tomosynthesis trial
and was responsible for collecting the data that was submitted to the FDA for approval of this technology.
3D mammograms are similar to a CT of the breast without the added radiation. Instead of a single picture that is taken with a traditional 2D mammogram, 3D takes numerous thin pictires of the breast allowing for greater cancer detection and fewer "retakes" or call backs.
